Mina is a valley located 8 kilometers southeast of Mecca. It is famous for its role in Hajj. Pilgrims stay in Mina overnight on the 8th, 11th, 12th (and sometimes the 13th) of Dhul Hijjah. The Jamarat (stone pillars) in Mina are where the ritual of stoning the Devil takes place during Hajj
