Jung-e-Uhad, also known as the Battle of Uhud, marks a significant chapter in early Islamic history. Fought in 625 AD (7 Shawwal, 3 AH), it pitted the Muslim community of Medina, led by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), against the Quraysh. The battle unfolded in a valley north of Mount Uhud, near Medina. Despite initial success, the Muslims faced setbacks due to a breach in their defensive ranks. Hamza ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him), the Prophet’s uncle, displayed unmatched valor but tragically fell as a martyr. Uhud teaches resilience, unity, and the importance of following divine guidance even in adversity.
