Masjid al-Qiblatayn, also known as the Mosque of the Two Qiblas, stands in Medina, Saudi Arabia. Constructed by Sawad ibn Ghanam ibn Ka’ab during the year 2 AH (623 CE), it holds immense historical significance. Muslims believe that here, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) received divine revelation to change the Qibla (direction of prayer) from Jerusalem to Mecca. The mosque once contained two mihrabs, each facing a different direction. In 1987, it was rebuilt, preserving the Qibla towards Mecca
