Also known as the Cave of Thawr, Ghar E Soor is a granodiorite hill located about 20 km southeast of Mecca, Saudi Arabia. It holds religious significance in Islam.
According to Islamic legends, this cave is where the Holy Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and his companion Abu Bakr al-Siddiq found shelter while fleeing from Quraish search parties during their migration (Hijrah) from Mecca to Medina.
The cave is believed to be the place where Allah protected them by having a spider weave a web at the entrance, preventing the soldiers from finding them
