Sulah Hudaibya (Treaty of al-Hudaybiya):
Near Hudaybiyyah, a well in modern-day Saudi Arabia close to Makkah, the Treaty of Hudaybiyya was signed.
This well, which bears the treaty’s name, is regarded as a significant site in Islamic history 1.
The treaty itself took place in March 628 CE (corresponding to Dhu al-Qi’dah, AH 6).
It was a pivotal agreement between Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), representing the state of Medina, and the Quraysh tribe in Mecca.
The treaty helped decrease tension between the two cities, affirmed peace for ten years, and authorized Muhammad’s followers to return the following year for a peaceful pilgrimage, later known as the First Pilgrimage
This event marked a critical moment in the early stages of Islam, emphasizing diplomacy and peaceful resolution
